WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 Does man not remember that We created him before, while he was nothing? 67 And so, by thy Sustainer, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly bring them forth together with the satanic forces [which impelled them in life] and then We shall most certainly gather them, on their knees, around hell; 68 and thereupon We shall, indeed, draw forth from every group [of sinners] the ones that had been most determined in their disdainful rebellion against the Most Gracious: 69 Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein. 70 Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished. 71 We shall deliver those who took heed for themselves, and leave the evil-doers kneeling there. 72 And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Which of the two parties (yours or ours) is better in position, and more imposing as an army? 73 And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance? 74 Say: 'Whosoever is in error, let the Most Merciful prolong his life span until they see that which they were threatened, be it a punishment, or the Hour. Then shall they know whose is the worst place and who is weaker in hosts' 75 God further enlightens those who seek guidance. To those who do charitable deeds which produce continuing benefits, your Lord will give a better reward and a better place in Paradise. 76 Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]?" 77 Hath he looked unto the Unseen, or hath he taken of the Compassionate a covenant? 78 By no means! We shall write down that which he saith; and We shall lengthen for him of the torment a length. 79 All that he speaks of will belong to Us, and he will come into Our presence all alone. 80 They have taken other gods instead of Allah that they may be a source of strength for them. 81 Indeed no! They will renounce their worship and turn against them. 82
