Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 The day on which We will gather those who guard (against evil) to the Beneficent Allah to receive honors 85 And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst 86 who have no power of intercession, except those who have taken a covenant with the Merciful. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Certainly you have made an abominable assertion 89 This would almost cause the heavens to rent apart, the earth to cleave asunder and the mountains to crumble down in fragments, 90 That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Beneficent (Allah). 91 But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). 92 All those who are in the heavens and the earth will come to the Most Gracious as His bondmen. 93 Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering. 94 Everyone on the Day of Judgment will individually come into the presence of God. 95 Indeed, the Most Compassionate Lord will soon create enduring love for those who believe and do righteous works. 96 So We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue that you may give good news to those who take heed, and warn the people who are contentious. 97 How many generations have We destroyed before them! Do you sense even one of them, or hear a whisper from them? 98
