Did you not see that We sent devils upon the disbelievers, so they excite them abundantly? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation 85 And We shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water,- 86 no one will be able to intercede for the others except those whom the Beneficent God has given authority. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Assuredly, you have uttered a monstrous falsehood: 89 At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, 90 to ascribe a son to the Beneficent God. 91 And it behoveth not the Compassionate that he should take a son. 92 There is none in the heavens and earth except he comes to the Merciful as a worshiper. 93 Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering. 94 And each one of them will come unto Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love. 96 So We have made it easy in thine tongue in order that thou mayest thereby give glad tidings unto the Godfearing and warn thereby a people contentious. 97 And how many a generation have We destroyed before them! Do you see any one of them or hear a sound of them? 98
