Did you not see that We sent devils upon the disbelievers, so they excite them abundantly? 83 So do not be impatient for them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him); We are only completing their number.* (* The number of days left for them or their evil deeds.) 84 The day We shall usher the righteous before Ar-Rahman like envoys into the presence of a king, 85 And drive the wicked into Hell like cattle driven to water, 86 None will have power to intercede for them except one who obtains a promise from Ar-Rahman. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 You have indeed advanced something hideous! 89 It is such a monstrosity that heavens might well-nigh burst forth at it, the earth might be cleaved, and the mountains fall 90 to ascribe a son to the Beneficent God. 91 And it behoveth not the Compassionate that he should take a son. 92 There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. 93 Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. 94 And each one of them will come before Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love. 96 We have made it easy in your own tongue in order that you proclaim the glad tidings to the cautious and give warning to a stubborn nation. 97 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? 98
