T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and establish the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 "[And now] go thou unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity. 24
