T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
