In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. 13 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
