T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
