T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
