T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
