T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not revealed the Quran to you that you may be unsuccessful. 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
