T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 “In order that We may show you Our great signs.” 23 "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." 24
