In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and establish the prayer of My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
