T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
