T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens, 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 Whatever is in the heavens and the earth and in between them, belongs to Him, as whatever lies under the earth. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
