In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 "[And now] go thou unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity. 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
