T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 And has the story of Musa come to you? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
