He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 He said, “O Moosa, you have been granted your prayer.” 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
