Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and my tongue fluent 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Increase through him my strength 31 And let him share my task 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
