Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who hath appointed for you the earth as a bed, and hath opened for you therein pathways, and hath sent down from the heaven water, and thereby We have brought forth kinds of plants, various. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
