Said Moosa, “My Lord, open up my breast for me.” 25 And ease for me my task 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 "And remember You much, 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
