He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task 32 so that we exalt You 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
