(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And make my mission easy. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Aaron my brother 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 And much remember Thee. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
