Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen me through him 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and may remember You much. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
