Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And share my task, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
