'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 and let him share my task, 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
