(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And make my mission easy. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 Place him in a chest and throw it into the river, and thereupon the river will cast him ashore, [and] one who is an enemy unto Me and an enemy unto him will adopt him. "And [thus early] I spread Mine Own love over thee - and [this] in order that thou might be formed under Mine eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
