Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 to support me. 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He said, “O Moosa, you have been granted your prayer.” 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 Place him in a chest and throw it into the river, and thereupon the river will cast him ashore, [and] one who is an enemy unto Me and an enemy unto him will adopt him. "And [thus early] I spread Mine Own love over thee - and [this] in order that thou might be formed under Mine eye. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
