Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and may remember You much. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
