Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
