[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember you often. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
