Aaron had already told them, "O my people! You are only being tested by this. Your Lord is the All Merciful, so follow me and obey my command." 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 "That you followed me not (according to my advice to you)? Have you then disobeyed my order?" 93 He said: O son of my mother! Clutch not my beard nor my head! I feared lest thou shouldst say: Thou hast caused division among the Children of Israel, and hast not waited for my word. 94 [Moses] said, "And what is your case, O Samiri?" 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 He said: Begone then, surely for you it will be in this life to say, Touch (me) not; and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your god to whose worship you kept (so long); we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea. 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 And so We narrate to you the stories of the past, and We have given you a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever disregards (the Quran) will be heavily burdened with sin on the Day of Judgment 100 therein abiding forever; how evil upon the Day of Resurrection that burden for them! 101 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown (the second blowing): that Day, We shall gather the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) Zurqa: (blue or blind eyed with black faces). 102 and they shall murmur among themselves: 'You have stayed away but ten (days and nights)' 103 We know well what they will utter, whereas the wisest among them will say, “You have stayed just for a day.” 104
