Aaron had indeed told them earlier: "O my people, you are being only misled with this. Surely your Lord is Ar-Rahman. So follow me and obey my command." 90 They said, “We will continue to squat* before it, till Moosa returns to us.” (* Continue worshipping it.) 91 Then Moses asked Aaron, "What made you not follow me when you saw them in error? 92 So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order? 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 (O Muhammad), thus do We recount to you the events of the past, and We have bestowed upon you from Ourself an admonition. 99 Whoever turns away from it, will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection. 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 The Day whereon the trumpet will be blown into, and We shall gather the culprits on that Day blear-eyed, 102 They shall whisper among themselves: "You stayed on the earth barely ten days." 103 We know well what they will say. The most just among them in the matter will declare: 'You have stayed away but one day' 104
