And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 (Musa) said: O Haroun! what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 “That you did not come after me? So did you disobey my order?” 93 "O son of my mother," (Aaron cried), do not pull me by my beard or my hair! I was really afraid you may say that I had created a rift among the children of Israel, and did not pay heed to your command." 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He answered: "I have gained insight into something which they were unable to see: and so I took hold of a handful of the Apostle's teachings and cast it away: for thus has my mind prompted me [to act]." 96 Said [Moses]; "Begone, then! And behold, it shall be thy lot to say throughout [thy] life, 'Touch me not! But, verily, [in the life to come] thou shalt be faced with a destiny from which there will be no escape! And [now] look at this deity of thine to whose worship thou hast become so devoted: we shall most certainly burn it, and then scatter [whatever remains of] it far and wide over the sea! 97 Your Lord is the One who is the only God and He has the knowledge of all things. 98 (O Muhammad), thus do We recount to you the events of the past, and We have bestowed upon you from Ourself an admonition. 99 Whoever turns away from it (this Quran i.e. does not believe in it, nor acts on its orders), verily, they will bear a heavy burden (of sins) on the Day of Resurrection, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 They will slowly talk to each other and say, "Our life on earth was as short as ten days". 103 We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day. 104
