Aaron had told them before, "My people, you are deceived by the calf. Your Lord is the Beneficent God. Follow me and obey my orders". 90 They said: We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Musa returns to us. 91 He (Moses) said to Aaron: 'When you saw them in error, what prevented you, 92 from [abandoning them and] following me? Hast thou, then, [deliberately] disobeyed my commandment?" 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 Moses said, 'And thou, Samaritan, what was thy business?' 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 But the god of you all is the One Allah: there is no god but He: all things He comprehends in His knowledge. 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever turns away from it will bear a heavy burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 In whispers will they consult each other: "Yet tarried not longer than ten (Days); 103 We know best what they say. The moderate ones among them will say, "You did not live on earth for more than a day." 104
