Aaron had indeed told them earlier: "O my people, you are being only misled with this. Surely your Lord is Ar-Rahman. So follow me and obey my command." 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Said Moosa, “O Haroon – what prevented you when you saw them going astray?” 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 (O Muhammad), thus do We recount to you the events of the past, and We have bestowed upon you from Ourself an admonition. 99 Whoever turns away from it (this Quran i.e. does not believe in it, nor acts on its orders), verily, they will bear a heavy burden (of sins) on the Day of Resurrection, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 They shall whisper among themselves: "You stayed on the earth barely ten days." 103 We know well what they will utter, whereas the wisest among them will say, “You have stayed just for a day.” 104
