And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They said "So long as Moses does not come back we are not going to give it up, and we will remain devoted to it." 91 He (Moses) said to Aaron: 'When you saw them in error, what prevented you, 92 So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order? 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 Moses said: "Be gone, then. All your life you shall cry: 'Untouchable.' There awaits a term for your reckoning that you cannot fail to keep. Now look at your god that you devotedly adored: We shall burn it and scatter its remains in the sea. 97 Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things. 98 Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 they will abide in this [state,] and grievous for them will be the weight [of that burden] on the Day of Resurrection 101 The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror), 102 They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]." 103 We know well what they will say to one another: We also know that even the most cautious in his estimate will say: "You lived in the world no more than a day." 104
