And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam, they made obeisance, but Iblis (did it not); he refused. 116 Then We said: Adam! verily this is an enemy unto thee and thine spouse; so let him not drive forth you twain from the Garden, lest thou be destressed. 117 "There is therein (enough provision) for thee not to go hungry nor to go naked, 118 neither to thirst therein, nor to suffer the sun.' 119 Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?" 120 Then they both ate of the tree, and so their private parts appeared to them, and they began to stick on themselves the leaves from Paradise for their covering. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray. 121 His Lord forgave him, accepted his repentance, and gave him guidance. 122 He said, “Both of you go down from heaven, one of you is an enemy to the other; then if the guidance from Me comes to you – then whoever follows My guidance, will not go astray nor be ill-fated.” 123 but whosoever turns away from My remembrance, his shall be a life of narrowness, and on the Resurrection Day We shall raise him blind.' 124 He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." 125 God will say, "Just as Our signs came to you and you ignored them, so will you on this Day be ignored." 126 For, thus shall We recompense him who wastes his own self and does not believe in his Sustainer's messages: and indeed, the suffering [of such sinners] in the life to come shall be most severe and most enduring! 127 Is it not a warning to such men (to call to mind) how many generations before them We destroyed, in whose haunts they (now) move? Verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 128
