The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 Before them, not one of the communities which We destroyed believed either. Will these believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them, so We delivered them and those whom We pleased, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? 10
