The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them (though We sent them signs), will they then believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
