The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 The Prophet said: my Lord knoweth the word in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. 9 Now We have revealed unto you a Scripture wherein is your Reminder. Have ye then no sense? 10
