The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 The Prophet said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing." 4 Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” 5 Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them (though We sent them signs), will they then believe? 6 Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. 7 We had not made them such bodies that would not eat any food nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand? 10
