The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 He said: 'My Lord has knowledge of what is said in the heavens and on earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower' 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? 10
