The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')

112 verses, revealed in Mecca after Abraham (Ibrahim) before The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Nay! say they: Medleys of dreams; nay! he has forged it; nay! he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign as the former (prophets) were sent (with). 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 We did not give them bodies that needed no food, nor were they to live forever. 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
