The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 And the Prophet said, “My Lord knows all that is spoken in the heavens and in the earth; and He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing." 4 Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them, so We delivered them and those whom We pleased, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? 10
