The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- 2 diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?' 3 The Prophet said: my Lord knoweth the word in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
