Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them, and We placed therein broad highways for them to pass through, that they may be guided. 31 We made the sky above them as a well-guarded ceiling, but they have neglected the evidence (of Our existence) therein. 32 It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, revolving on its orbit. 33 And We did not ordain abiding for any mortal before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide? 34 Every soul has to experience the taste of death. We test you with both hardships and blessings. In the end you will all return to Us. 35 (Muhammad), whenever the unbelievers see you, they think that you deserve nothing more than to be mocked. They say, "Is it he, (Muhammad), who speaks against your gods?" But they themselves have no faith at all in the Beneficent God. 36 Man is made of haste. I shall show you My portents, but ask Me not to hasten. 37 They say, "When shall the Day of Judgment come to pass if you are true in your claim?" 38 If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped. 39 It will come upon them unawares confounding them, and they will not be able to keep it back, nor will they be given respite. 40 And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, then there surrounded those of them who scoffed that whereat they had been mocking! 41
