Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should sway under them, and We placed therein passages for paths so that they might find their way. 31 And We have made the heaven a guarded canopy and (yet) they turn aside from its signs. 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul must taste of death and We try you by evil and good by way of probation; and to Us you shall be brought back. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man has been created hasty; very soon I shall show you My signs, do not be impatient. 37 They say, 'And when shall the promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 38 If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped. 39 Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. 40 They mocked the Messengers who were sent before you; thus, the torment which they had ridiculed encompassed them all. 41
