Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 and [that] We have set up the sky as a canopy well-secured? And yet, they stubbornly turn away from [all] the signs of this [creation,] 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 And before you, We did not appoint on earth a never-ending life for any human; will they, if you depart, become immortal? 34 Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. 35 And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who insults your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers. 36 Man has been created hasty; very soon I shall show you My signs, do not be impatient. 37 And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 38 If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided... 39 Nay, but it shall come upon them suddenly, dumbfounding them, and they shall not be able to repel it, nor shall they be respited. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
