Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And [are they not aware that] We have set up firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with them, and [that] We have appointed thereon broad paths, so that they might find their way, 31 And We made the sky a well-protected roof. Still they turn away from His signs! 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 (O Muhammad), We did not grant everlasting life to any human being even before you. If you were to die, will they live for ever? 34 Every soul must taste of death and We try you by evil and good by way of probation; and to Us you shall be brought back. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So ask Me not to hasten (them). 37 They say: "When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?" 38 If the unbelievers but knew when that they shall not ward off the Fire from their faces nor from their backs, neither shall they be helped! 39 It will overtake them suddenly, dumbfounding them. They shall be unable to ward it off, and they shall not be respited. 40 And certainly apostles before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed. 41
